When planning the entertainment for your wedding, the biggest question is whether to hire a DJ or make your own playlist. For those on a tight budget making your own playlist at your wedding is always a safe way to curb the budget and it makes it more intimate and fun, especially for smaller weddings. You can play songs that have special meaning to you and your honey, and to add an even more personal touch you can even make CD's of the songs you played to give out to your guests as favors.
If you decide to go with a DJ shop around for the best prices, or see if a friend, who is a DJ, is willing to call in a favor. DJ's tend to take control of the entertainment, which can relieve some stress off of you, and get people out on the dance floor and participate in the festivities. It's important to talk with the DJ about what songs you would like played and what songs you don't. Make a special point to let him or her know what you're looking for and what kind of mood you would like to set the reception to-when are the good times to start the dancing music and what kind of music should be played during dinner, etc.. Whichever one you decide on don't be afraid to play or suggest what you want, it is, after all, your wedding and setting the right ambiance is key. |
